Thanks, TNK Vintage!

Thank you for the sweet post, Tomorrow Never Knows!

I love how they've layered the scarves- they look fantastic worn together. I can't wait to visit this shop in person when I'm in Toronto in January!!

New stockist- Tomorrow Never Knows of 69 Vintage Collective

Alright, first I have to say that this "New Stockist" thing isn't very common for me. Up until the end of November, I had been working with my roster of current retailers for quite a while- it had been almost a year since I'd expanded to any new stores. (This was my own choice, mostly due to the fact that I had just graduated and had a notion that I should have a proper nine-to-five job, and keep Mes Trois Soeurs as a side project.) However, the past couple of weeks have just been incredible for me and m3s! I've been honoured to have such beautiful stores approach me, and it really reaffirms the fact that I did the right thing in deciding to give my label 100% of my time. Anyway, I could not be more pleased about the expansion of Mes Trois Soeurs into other boutiques, and I am just as excited about the newest...

Tomorrow Never Knows is part of the 69 Vintage Clothing Collective in Toronto (more on the collective and everything they offer in this great article). This fabulous boutique, located just above 69 Vintage, carries carefully selected vintage and handmade clothing and accessories. The owner is extremely picky about what makes it into her shop, so she is able to keep the selection relevant and of the highest quality. If that isn't enough to coerce you to visit, they also host events like Cookie Exchange and Vintage Makeover Night!

They're located at 1207 Bloor St West in Toronto, but if you're a little further away, I highly recommend checking out their blog and facebook fan page.

New stockist- Impact Galerie

Photo taken off Impact Galerie's website.

I have been knitting like a maniac... two new stockists in two weeks!! It's been such an exciting time for m3s! My friend Josephine, the designer of Oyeloria jewelry, introduced me to Impact Galerie. It's a gorgeous boutique in Montreal's Old Port offering handmade and one-of-a-kind jewelry, accessories, artwork, and spa products. It's a great place to find beautiful and unique gifts, or just to spoil yourself. They're carrying a selection of my rope scarves and I'm very happy to be working with them!

Visit them at 209 Rue St Paul Ouest, near Place d'Armes metro.

Online shipping fee calculator, and SDM photos

Are you doing your holiday shopping online and ordering items that are shipping from the US to Canada? (I know I am!) Make sure that you factor in duty fees into your budget. This is the most handy shipping fees calculator, telling you duty and brokerage fees for whatever you're ordering, based on the price, shipping method, and where the product was made. It's always been extremely accurate for me.

If you are ordering from the US, I highly recommend having the goods shipped with USPS. I have paid ridiculous fees on packages shipped UPS- once a $40 pair of shoes ended up costing me $80 after duty! With USPS, I've rarely been charged anything, unless the package is very expensive, and even then the fees aren't too bad.

Just thought I'd share!

And here are a few more photos from Smart Design Mart.

The Etsy shop is back on!

Just FYI, my Etsy shop is back and running after a very successful weekend at Smart Design Mart. I was so pleased with the turnout, and I'm already excited for next year. I seriously depleted my stock of scarves and I will be knitting all day so I can get them into stores!

On another note, I've purchased a new mannequin, who is much prettier and more photogenic than my other dressform. This means that I should be able to put new stock on Etsy much faster. Yay!

My Etsy shop is on vacation!

Just a note that my Etsy store will be on vacation until Monday! That's why that panel over there --> is empty.

If you're looking to find out more about m3s, check out my facebook page!

See you at Smart Design Mart!

Smart Design Mart for the weekend!

Smart Design Mart starts tomorrow and I am so excited! I'll be there almost the entire weekend, and my friend Daniel will be minding the booth when I have to step out, so feel free to come see Mes Trois Soeurs anytime.

I'm bringing tons of rope scarves in some gorgeous new colours as well as old favourites, and I'm pleased to say that I knit every one of them out of eco-friendly yarn. I'm also bringing a slew of skirts and dresses at great prices, so you'll have lots to choose from.

I'll be closing my Etsy store this evening until Monday morning just to avoid complications.

Here is the information for Smart Design Mart again:

New stockist- Fait Ici

I'm super-excited to announce that as of this afternoon I'll be stocked at a new store! Fait Ici is a sort of modern-day, fashion-forward general store. They focus on selling eco-friendly, locally-made fabulous products at reasonable prices. I say "fabulous" because their selection is not what you would expect from a "general store", but much cooler- think trendy accessories and takeout lunches! They're going to be carrying a selection of my rope scarves, including some knit from organic yarns. I love their concept and I'm really looking forward to being a part of it!

They're located in Montreal in Little Burgundy at 2519 Notre Dame O if you want to stop by!

The Rope Scarf Deluxe

Photos by Jesse Brunette

This is the 2010 update to the Rope Scarf Classic. It's 50% longer than the original, so you have more options on how to style it, it's warmer, and it's just more of a statement piece. Although I still love the original, I'm quite excited about these!

You can purchase them in my online store, or at these locations,

Montreal
Unicorn Boutique, 5135 St Laurent
Headquarters Galerie + Boutique, 1649 Amherst

Ottawa
Victoire Boutique, 246 Dalhousie
Victoire Boutique, 1282 Unit B. Wellington West

Toronto
Nathalie-Roze & Co, 1015 Queen East
Freedom Clothing Collective, 939 Bloor West
The Coal Miner's Daughter, 587 Markham

Or at the upcoming Smart Design Mart!

(And for those of you out west, the Rope Scarf Classic is available at Twigg & Hottie, 3671 Main.)

New dresses

Photos of the dresses I put in the CASCO show, now for sale in my Etsy shop.

Incidentally, the lovely model also painted the artwork she's posing in front of. If you're interested in owning a piece of her art, contact her at k_gilks@live.concordia.ca.

Capes!

All I could think about when I saw the trailer for Red Riding Hood was how badly I want a floor-length cape.

It's a shorter one, but here's a faux-fur Mes Trois Soeurs cape that I love as well!

Boutique Unicorn and Rachel F's stunning earmuffs

I desperately want a pair of these recycled-fur white earmuffs! The selection at Unicorn always impresses me. (They carry m3s, too!)

CASCO Show 2010

Mosaica did a fantastic job in the m3s scene in the CASCO show, a fashion and dance-based fundraiser for the Montreal Children's Hospital. Thanks ladies!

I'm just in love with these long, full skirts and matching bows on top... I want a dozen of these dresses for myself.

I'm still waiting on the professional photos, but in the meantime these do the trick!

I ♥ Summer Dresses

Instead of going to watch the hockey game with friends tonight, I opted to stay in and work on a bunch of dresses I'll be bringing to Headquarters tomorrow. It got me thinking about my own collection of summer dresses, and I realized something: to me, summer dresses are the one thing that never go out of style. In my opinion, a great summer dress is beautiful year to year, regardless of fashion trends.

I know that a lot of people are getting sick of the maxi dress this year, but my own saved my life last August in ridiculously hot Venice, when a mini would have left me sticking to everything I sat on! So I know for sure I'll be breaking that one out again this year.

m3s maxi dress, Venice, Italy, 2009.

I have a cute turquoise jersey dress with a pretty lace back- I don't know how many years ago I bought it, or even what store it came from, but I still think it's beautiful and happily wore it in Mexico this year. With a flower in my hair, of course.

Don't mind Patrick. Random jersey dress, Cancun, Mexico, 2010.

A floral mini dress from a Guess sample sale... four years ago?... is still one of my favourite non-m3s dresses in my closet.

Guess minidress, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, 2008.

And then there are, of course, the new favourites, especially this one little beauty that makes me smile every time I look at it.

m3s sweetheart dress, Tulum, Mexico, 2010.

Anyway, my point is: I don't care what trends dictate- a nicely fitting summer dress in a pretty colour will ALWAYS have a place in my wardrobe.
