Unite for the Fight

If you're going to be in the Ottawa Valley this weekend, please try your best to attend the Fourth Annual Unite for the Fight Against Childhood Cancer:

The Unite for the Fight committee was founded in February of 2008. Their mission is to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer research in memory of Cailin Gallagher. The major fundraiser for the group is an evening of live musical entertainment. The annual Cailin Gallagher Unite for the Fight event will be held this year on May 28, 2011 at the Germania Hall in Pembroke, Ontario.

You can check out the website here, and the event page here. Cailin was a good friend of mine in high school, and an inspiration to everyone who knew her. I actually named my first runway collection in her memory, and for the past three years I've been honoured to donate to the silent auction for this event. This year I donated a rope scarf, and a beautiful one-of-a-kind dress.

This rope scarf will be up for auction.

A dress similar to this one- but honestly,
much nicer- will be auctioned off as well.

The Gallagher family says it better than anyone- here is an excerpt from the Unite website.

Cailin Gallagher was 20 years old when she died on January 1st of 2008. Although she lived for only 20 years, she filled every moment with love for her family and friends. Her zest for life and fun loving attitude won her many friends. Cailin showed compassion for others, even when she herself was suffering. Medical staff would often marvel at her ability to be positive in the face of such adversity. Cailin relapsed 5 times after her initial diagnoses of Wilm's Tumour, and each time she would fight back without complaint. Her bravery and courage were a testament to her strength and determination. We, her family, and friends will keep her memory alive with our fourth annual UNITE for the FIGHT event. On Sat. May 28th at the Germania Hall 15 Bennett St. Pembroke ON. We will celebrate Cailin's birthday as she would have wanted- with a party, and at the same time raising money and awareness for research into childhood cancer. The event will feature an evening of live music, a silent auction, and a light lunch. Tickets are $20.00/person. All proceeds from the event will go to Childhood Cancer Canada.

Every school day about 8 children in Canada are diagnosed with cancer. Cancer is the number one disease killer of Canadian children. The Childhood Cancer Foundation is the only national charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. With your generous support you will help improve survival rates and quality of life for pediatric cancer patients and their families.

Cailin suffered through harsh chemotherapy and radiation treatments in an effort to prolong her life. Survival rates are improving, but we need more gentle and effective treatments that will guarantee a 100% cure rate for all children facing cancer. Cailin wanted to make a difference, we know she already has. Thank you for supporting research into childhood cancer through the Cailin Gallagher Unite for the Fight event.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to those who have donated to our first three UNITE FOR THE FIGHT events. In the last three years we have raised over $43,500!

The success of the events are a fitting tribute to Cailin. She would be so proud. Thank you for your generosity. We look forward to seeing you on May 28th 2011.

If you are not able to attend, I strongly urge you to make a donation.

Final photos from Rejean Brunet

Yay! All in all, this was one of my favourite photoshoots ever. I'm going to miss getting beautiful edited shots in my inbox every morning...

More photos from Rejean Brunet

I love these! It took us a while to get the perfect shot- it is incredibly difficult to spin/jump/twirl, throw balloons in the air, and pose at the same time- but it was definitely worth it to have such fun and joyful photos!

Photoshoot with Rejean Brunet

Last week I had the pleasure of doing a photoshoot with the talented Montreal photographer Rejean Brunet. I worked with him once last year, and was so excited to do it again. I was not disappointed with the results!

April Giveaway Winner!

The winner of the April facebook giveaway was Daniela R.! She won a free summer dress, and we're still working out the details on colour, print and fit to make it perfect for her.

I have been using a random number generator to choose the winner of these contests, but my boyfriend Jonathan is currently coding one for me with a drum roll. Hopefully it will be running by the end of May's giveaway... I'm pretty excited. For something as fun as a free dress/scarf/etc, I feel as though a drum roll is completely necessary!

Congratulations, Daniela!

New stockist- Arterie Boutique

Photo taken from Arterie's facebook page

I'm super-excited about this new Montreal stockist, Arterie Boutique! I have known about them forever, but for some reason I never thought that my clothing would be a good fit there. I was definitely wrong- they are the perfect environment for m3s! I'm so proud to be working with them. They have an amazing vintage selection and some beautiful clothing and accessories from Montreal designers. The owners are very concerned with stocking ethical and eco-friendly clothing (they even have vegan shoes!), so it's definitely a great business to support! I highly recommend a visit!

April Giveaway!

My birthday is in April, so this month's facebook giveaway is going to be a good one!

I'm curious to hear about everyone's favourite dress lengths for spring and summer. I'm a huge, huge fan of maxi dresses, but I know that I'm not the majority, so I'd like to hear some other opinions! Do you love minis, or favour tea-length? Maybe just at the knee? Please let me know!

Leave a comment on my facebook fan page here telling me your favourite dress length, and I'll enter you into a draw for a Mes Trois Soeurs summer dress. The winner will get a casual dress in their own size, and made according to their own preferences for colours and prints.

Some happy feedback!

Like I mentioned before, I started designing prom and wedding dresses fairly recently. Usually the clothing I produce is ready-to-wear, but these special occasion dresses are custom-made, and each one is unique. It's definitely a different venture for me, and it's so rewarding to hear what my clients think of their dresses!

From a lovely lavender prom dress-
Kimberly,

I got my dress! It is just what I wanted. I love it so much. Thank you, thank you, thank you (: I will send you pictures of me in it once the big day arrives! (: Once again, thank you so much.

From a white wedding gown with beautiful criss-crossing straps-
Hello!
Just letting you know that I received my dress today! I love it, it's so beautiful and fits absolutely perfect! Thank you so much for creating a lovely dress and making my day so special!

From a pale blue strapless gown-
I LOVE THE DRESS!!

Thanks you soo much! I'll send you pics as soon as I can!!

Getting messages like this makes my day!

Think Pink McGill

A photographer friend of mine, Steve Campbell, is currently shooting the Think Pink McGill breast cancer calendar. He was looking for interesting pink clothing, so I was happy to volunteer a Mes Trois Soeurs dress!

Here's an early draft of a photo from the shoot. I can't wait to see the final version.

I'm starting monthly giveaways in my facebook fan page!

Here's the deal for March-

Just leave a comment on the page telling me which m3s dress is your all-time favourite. I'll enter everyone who comments into a draw, and the winner will receive a free rope scarf shipped to their address.

I'll do the draw on Monday, March 28th and announce the winner immediately after!

As for me, here are a few of my favourites...

I really need to do a proper photoshoot in this dress... this picture just does not do it justice. This one is new- 2011.

P[h]assion 2011 Photos

The models looked gorgeous in m3s! The show was so much fun- I loved the Alice in Wonderland-inspired accessories and music, and the dance performances were incredible. The girls at P[h]assion definitely know how to put on a show.

Thanks to my photographer boyfriend, Jonathan Brunette!

And since some of the skirts and dresses are cut off, here are the full-length photos from the fittings.
